           I've been using Microsoft programs, specifically Word, for the vast majority of my schooling. I am even certified in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. While Microsoft programs aren't the easiest ones on the market, I've found that they offer the best balance of simplicity and opportunity. They have a lot of features that you can't find on platforms like Google. Overall, I prefer them for my own schoolwork, but for more personal writing I tend to use Google Docs. The benefit of Docs over Word is that I can pull up those documents on my phone just about anywhere, but now with Microsoft 365, Microsoft is catching up in this aspect.             The ISTE Standards for Educators serves well as a comprehensive list of guidelines. Blog Post 1

      It is my hope that through this class I will be able to establish a strong foundation for my future in teaching. I have seen a few new teachers, namely my mother when she started teaching, struggle to gain footing. I'm hoping that I can minimize that struggle as much as possible for myself, even though I know that it is inevitable. At least through taking this class and classes like it I'm giving myself a fighting chance with as much knowledge as possible behind me.      Due to the lockdown, all of my schooling over the past five or so years has been inseparable from technology of all forms. Online work through Teams and Google Classroom was unavoidable in 2020, and a lot of teachers never stopped using those platforms, especially to help out students who have missed classes.
